The Vegetable Orchestra (called Das erste Wiener gemüseorchester on the first album) was founded in 1998. It consists of 11 musicians, a sound engineer and a video artist. Based in Vienna, the Vegetable Orchestra plays concerts in Europe and Asia. From time to time workshops are given - on how to manufacture an instrument or on musical topics. Ariel Pink (born Ariel Marcus Rosenberg on June 24, 1978) is a Los Angeles based experimental/pop musician. Pink boasts a cult following and endorsements from more widely known artists such as fellow founding Paw Tracks group Animal Collective. After years of recording in relative seclusion in the hills of Los Angeles, Ariel Pink (the first non-Animal Collective member on the Paw Tracks roster) made his official Paw Tracks debut with The Doldrums. Recording at home with a guitar, bass, keyboard, and 8-track (the drum sounds were created with his mouth).

Gang Gang Dance
Gang Gang Dance is a music group based in New York City, signed to the the Social Registry record label. Members were previously seen in Washington DC's The Cranium, NYC's Angel Blood, Actress, and Ssab Songs (with Harmony Korine). The group has become well known within the New York experimental/art scene for its distinctive sound that draws equally from African rhythms, Middle eastern dance music, industrial, noise, grime and other genres.

Eugene Chadbourne
Eugene Chadbourne (4 January 1951 in Mount Vernon, NY) is a USA composer, improvisor, guitarist and banjoist. He has also been a reviewer for the All Music Guide (AMG), and a contributor to Maximum RocknRoll. He is also known as the inventor of the electric rake. This musical instrument (though some would hesitate to call it "musical") is made by attaching a microphone or an electric guitar pickup to an ordinary lawn rake. The sounds that it can produce are impossible to describe.

John Cale (b.1942) is a Welsh musician, composer, singer-songwriter. and record producer. Born on 9th March 1942 in Garnant, Wales, Cale spoke only Welsh until the age of seven, when he began to learn English at school. He went on to study viola at Goldsmiths College, University of London, where he became involved in avant garde music. He travelled to the U.S. to continue his studies, thanks to the help and influence of Aaron Copland, and met and worked with various avant garde composers, including John Cage.

There are multiple artists with this name: a Japanese prog-rock duo, an Australian black-metal band, a German thrash-metal band, a new wave band, a Canadian ska band, and a Chinese rock band. 1) Ruins is a bass-&-drum duo that formed in Tokyo, Japan, in 1985. They are usually pigeonholed into the category of prog rock.
