The Nomad

New Zealand producer Daimon Schwalger has released music under the name The Nomad for many years. The first album Movement was drum'n'bass, but subsequent releases have been downtempo releases with (obligatory in New Zealand) dub influences. Prior to his solo project he was performing drum'n'bass as part of trio Locust with Pearl Runga (sister of Bic Runga) and Ryan Smith (aka The Silversmith). They had no official releases.

Marlow

There are 2 projects by the name Marlow 1. "Making his Storming debut with the simply superb 'The Rope', Marlow is one of the new breed of Dubstep producers making waves in the scene, but has accomplished this in a very short time. Taking influences from, amongst other things, 70's psychedelic funk band Parliament/Funkadelic, Marlow manages to combine musical elements with underground bassline sensibilities and the result is a truly fresh sound. With a slew of releases lined up for a multitude of labels, Marlow's star is definitly rising and is certainly one artist to look out for." Caspa

Bonding over a shared love of NZ music and passion for making their own, Six60 formed after meeting at a Kora concert in 2006. Three members flatted together as Otago Uni students, spending countless hours in their recording studio (Eli's room) at number 660 on notorious Castle St.

The six60 sound is unique - a fresh Kiwi fusion of roots, reggae, hip hop, dubstep, and drum and bass. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.

Lucky Elephant

Lucky Elephant are united in a desire to provide warm, inviting, melodic, challenging, fresh music. The 4 dashing young blades armed only with a collection of high maintenance, but hugely loveable old synths, tape delays, Wurlitzers, harmoniums, drums, ukuleles and guitars stride proudly out to battle – confident that the truth will out, and that once again music can provide inspiration and comfort.

God God Dammit Dammit

The twelve-piece juggernaut, God God Dammit Dammit has its roots in the punk and metal scene of Adelaide, South Australia. Among others, the band includes members of post-hardcore act, The Rivalry, but that influence doesn't overpower the funk/soul bent that drives the band, the horn section being a huge feature of their sound.

Caspa

Caspa grew up in West London, and was brought up on a diet of jungle & hiphop. At the time he wasn't old enough to go to the jungle raves so had to be content with his tape packs of Brockie and Det. When garage emerged he naturally progressed into the sound and started attending garage raves. After an injury which sadly ended his once promising basketball career, he bought his first pair of decks and started DJ'ing.

Dj Rupture

DJ /rupture AKA of Jace Clayton, a New York-based DJ and producer. He used to play in the drum and bass collective Toneburst, and DJ'ed in Boston during the late 1990s. His standard set-up involves three turntables, on which he creates complicated mixes—such as one with a cappella vocals, the second with breakbeats, and the third with ambient effects. His 2008 release "Uproot" made the Pitchfork 2008 Top 50 Albums of 2008 list
