Culture Club

Culture Club was a popular 1980s pop group, perhaps most noticeable for their gender-bending frontman Boy George. The other members of the band were Roy Hay on guitars and keyboards, Mikey Craig playing bass and Jon Moss (ex Damned, London, Adam and the Ants) on drums. Their first album, 1982's Kissing to Be Clever, became a major international hit, spawning the hit singles "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" (which went 'all the way' in the BBC-Charts in late 1982), "Time (Clock of the Heart)", and "I'll Tumble 4 Ya".

Finabah

Finabah has come a long way since their humble beginnings in 2002. The idea of forming this awesome foursome started with two mates with too much beer, a guitar and a voice (always a deadly combo!). These two talented munchkins surprisingly remembered there pact to form a band the following morning so they picked up their guitar and vocal chords scattered on the floor and went to get a maxi burger with egg!!! (or in other words the quest was on!) Predictably...

Manchester art student Mick Hucknall was one of the many young music fans present (along with original members of The Fall, Joy Division, The Smiths and Buzzcocks) who was inspired to form a band after witnessing that gig. The first incarnation of the band was a punk group called The Frantic Elevators.

So-named after infamous soundsystem experiments by obvious influences The Flaming Lips, The Parking Lot Experiments are a Melbourne free-k pop ensemble ecstatically making music that glitters with charm and smiles, that wilfully escapes genres by being so hyper-inclusive, and that will almost certainly make you want to hug your friends. Ben Abraham

In 2003 Ben Abraham decided he never wanted to sing again. The stunning career choice came after years of musical insecurity and tireless efforts to impress people; performing renditions of other people's songs he was told were cool at the time. Content with leaving the dream of music behind, Ben turned instead to his screenwriting studies and fell in love with the art of film and the power of story.
