Ruins

There are multiple artists with this name: a Japanese prog-rock duo, an Australian black-metal band, a German thrash-metal band, a new wave band, a Canadian ska band, and a Chinese rock band. 1) Ruins is a bass-&-drum duo that formed in Tokyo, Japan, in 1985. They are usually pigeonholed into the category of prog rock. The only constant member of Ruins is the drummer/vocalist Tatsuya Yoshida (吉田達也, Yoshida Tatsuya), who has cycled through four different bassists since the band’s inception.

Millions

There are at least four bands using this name: 1) The experimental / drone project of David Suss, from NYC. 2) The Chicago noise rock band....
Millions guitarists Scott Flaster and Corey Lyons are quarreling musical twins whose differences set the tension on which Millions' sound is based. Flaster and Lyons' dueling guitars create a codependent relationship of angst and grandeur - the neurotic impatience of Black Flag scraping up against the anthemic melodies of King Crimson.

Mornings

There seem to be more than one MORNINGS (as we all know). But anyway, the MORNINGS I can tell about is my new solo project that I just founded in January 2009. I formerly run the MUSTACHE ENSEMBLE on my own and play in UGLY IGLU and M4 TRIO right now, too. I did a lot of collaborations with the great BLOODY THINGS recently, so you´ll find my solo stuff here as well as excerpts of sessions I did with him. Scul Hazzards

SCUL HAZZARDs are a guitar based noise rock band from Brisbane, Australia. They make aggressive deconstructionist rock sometimes within pop structures, but often through acting counter to these sensibilities their most unique work is created. Regardless of what path their song writing takes they create dense songs that are complex yet accessible. While their early releases (knee deep in blood that isn’t ours single - self-released, 2006, and House of Heads EP - Valve Records, 2006) were for the most part primal in nature their more recent material (Count Less Dead EP...

Deerhoof

Deerhoof is an American independent music group formed in San Francisco in 1994. While it began as an improvisational bass/harmonica solo project of Rob Fisk (subsequently in 7 Year Rabbit Cycle, Common Eider, King Eider), it currently consists of founding drummer Greg Saunier, bassist and singer Satomi Matsuzaki, and guitarists John Dieterich and Ed Rodriguez. Initially performing improvised noise punk, Deerhoof became widely renowned and influential in the 2000s through self-produced creative output combining "noise, sugary [pop] melodies, and an experimental spirit into utterly distinctive music". They have released a dozen or more studio albums since 1997; their album "Mountain Moves" was released in September 2017.

Pitchfork labeled Deerhoof as "the best band in the world.” The New York Times described them as “one of the most original rock bands to have come along in the last decade.” From their humble beginnings as an obscure San Francisco noise act, they've become one of indie music's most influential bands with their ecstatic and unruly take on pop.
