Paul Heslin

Paul Heslin was raised in the capital city of Australia in a dark well of hyper-christian homeschooling, before peeling the layers off and beginning to grapple with the world of electronic sound. In 2008, after completing a university degree in digital sound and composition, he vanished overseas to England and France for an extensive period of musical development, returning to Australia in late 2010 with a spiky melange of facial hair and the transformative rubbernecker ep.

Swans is an influential band from New York City, New York, United States, active from 1982 to 1997, reformed in 2010, led by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Gira. This early physical sound is possibly best heard on the live album Public Castration Is a Good Idea.

The name was taken from the label of an old 78 rpm platter without realising the original history of the artist. Originally never intended to be used for more than one performance (as was common at the time) the name stuck. Andrew Lonsdale began producing electronic and experimental music in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia in 1980...
