Beyond Terror Beyond Grace
Forming in 2004, Beyond Terror Beyond Grace play a unique blend of Scandinavian influenced- grindcore, black metal, ambient and atmospheric death metal. Since their formation the band has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the metal world including Carcass, Obituary, The Black Dahlia Murder and Pig Destroyer, played shows across Australia on multiple occasions including an Australian tour in February 2010 with New Zealand’s Ulcerate and released two albums; Extinction|Salvation in 2007, and Our Ashes Built Mountains in March 2010.
Geordie Little
Geordie Little writes his own fingerstyle compositions which incorporate contemporary classical compositions with offbeat rhythmic tapping and discordant open tunings. Starting off busking and playing at wineries around the Adelaide Hills in South Australia, Geordie recorded his debut album "Neukölln" in Berlin as well as the film "the Stoop Sessions", both released early 2012.
Mick Harvey
Michael John Harvey (born 29 August 1958 in Rochester, Victoria, Australia), is an Australian rock musician, composer, arranger and record producer. He is best known for his career-long collaboration with the singer and songwriter Nick Cave. A multi-instrumentalist, Harvey plays guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, and drums. Born in rural Victoria, Harvey moved to the suburbs of Melbourne in his childhood.
SixFtHick
Sleazy but wry, cowpunk / hard rock that has some similarities to bands like Nashville Pussy and The Cramps but is more tongue-in-cheek. Know for their ferocious live shows, SixFtHick, portray their hometown, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia as if it was a separate country, with co-lead singer Geoff Corbett playing the role of a parochial Boss Hogg. The other singer, his brother, Ben Corbett plays the role of a disturbed Iggy Pop with an emphasis on physical self abuse.
The Tongue
The Tongue is one hell of an MC. He is diverse (has recorded with Urthboy, Bertie Blackman, The Bag Raiders, Gift Of Gab (Blackalicious), Katalyst, Braintax (UK), Georgia Anne Muldrow (USA), Muph and Plutonic etc), Prolific (EP "Bad Education", LP "Shock And Awe", two mixtapes) and renowned for his impressive live show (as seen at Big Day Out, Good Vibrations, Groovin The Moo, Sydney Festival etc).
Forgiven Rival
Forgiven Rival have been hailed as “pioneers in a new breed of urbanised rock”. Breaking into the scene in early 2005 they have continued on the up with a demo out and an impressive year of touring with some top notch Australian and International artists, including Kisschasy, Parkway Drive, Silverstein (CA), I Killed The Prom Queen and more. A band that knows just how important touring is they have impressively played in almost every Australian state and clocked up over 60 shows in one year.
Def Wish Cast
The first two Def Wish Cast hard core hip hop releases have become legendary. Both "Mad as a Hatter" 1991 and "Knights of the underground Table" 1992 are available for instant download or hard copy from www.defwishcast.com Def Wish Cast hail from the west of Sydney and were contracted to my record company while still at school. Fireballs
“Technicolour rock, in the age of beige” Beat magazine Fireballs are recognised by many as Australia’s first and foremost psychobilly band, a reputation credited to their early beginnings and their present longevity. From inception the idea was to capture a flavour that would recognise their original rockabilly roots and their love of playing hard ‘n’ fast. Heavily influenced by double bass driven international bands, such as The Stray Cats, Batmobile, Mad Sin and the Klingonz, Fireballs ambitiously aimed to carve out their own niche in a smaller Melbourne scene.
Kate Miller-Heidke
Kate Miller-Heidke (born 16 November 1981) is a singer-songwriter from Brisbane, Queensland. Although trained as an opera singer, she has followed a career in quirky pop music.
In June 2004, she independently released her first seven-track EP, "Telegram". It was followed in April 2006 by "Circular Breathing" EP. Kate released her debut album Little Eve on 15 June 2007 (produced by Magoo). The album entered the charts at #11 and received four ARIA award nominations.
Miller-Heidke's second album, "Curiouser", will be released in the USA on March 16th 2010 and includes the bonus songs "Words" and "RUFKM". The album was recorded in Los Angeles, USA, with Miller-Heidke working with co-producers Keir Nuttall and Mickey Petralia, who has also produced albums for Beck and Flight of the Conchords.
Kate will be touring the US throughout the spring. Highlights include Joe's Pub in NY on March 15th, SXSW, Coachella and Ben Folds dates in April.
Miller-Heidke has been nominated for four aria awards in 2009 including best female, best pop release, best video for the last day on earth and single of the year for the same song.
As of 27th September 2013 Miller-Heidke reported that she had left her previous label 'Sony Music' and was pursuing a crowd-funded project though the crowd-funding platform Pledge Music. The new album 'O Vertigo!' was released via Cooking Vinyl on the 14th March 2014. Read more on Last.fm.
