Four Tet

Four Tet is the name used by Kieran Hebden (born 1977 in Putney, London, UK) for his experimental electronic music-oriented solo efforts, to differentiate from his work with post-rock band Fridge. Hebden's solo work typically utilises samples lifted from various sources including hip-hop, electronica, techno, jazz, and folk mixed with his own guitar playing. Four Tet shares some stylistic similarities with other musicians, such as Prefuse 73, who use computer editing techniques that give the music a staccato, cut-up feel.

Hudson Mohawke

Hudson Mohawke, (b. Ross Birchard), also known as DJ Itchy, Hudson Mo or Hud Mo, is an Electronic music producer/DJ from Glasgow, Scotland, affiliated with the LuckyMe collective of musicians and artists. He is signed to Warp Records and released his debut album Butter in October 2009. At the age of 15 Birchard, under the name DJ Itchy, was the youngest ever UK DMC finalist. Yamandu Costa

Yamandu Costa (Passo Fundo, January 24, 1980) is a Brazilian guitarist and composer. His main instrument is the "violão de 7 cordas", the Brazilian seven-stringed nylon guitar. Yamandu began to study the guitar at seven years of age with his father, Algacir Costa, leader of the group Os Fronteiriços (The Frontiersmen) and mastered the instrument after studying under Lúcio Yanel, an Argentine virtuoso rooted in Brazil. At fifteen he studied the folk music of Southern Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay.

Egon

There are at least four different artists with the name Egon. One of them is the band Egon from Malmö, Sweden. The band plays music that they describe as a mix between fulpop ("ugly pop") and dumsynth ("stupid synth"). Egon released their first album Den Nya Kulan in 2003. The second Egon is the general manager of <a href="http://www.last.fm/label/Stones+Throw" class="bbcode_label">Stones Throw</a> Records. Beginning in 2000 he has overseen the business of the label as well as producing, among others, Stones Throw's The Funky 16 Corners, Stark Reality, and The Third Unheard reissues.

Dirty Three

Violinist Warren Ellis, guitarist Mick Turner, and drummer Jim White are Dirty Three - an instrumental experimental rock 'n' rock/folk trio considered one of the most prestigious Australian acts. In their beginnings, in Melbourne, Australia, in 1993, the trio played very often and had residences at some of Melbourne's smaller pubs. In the years that followed, they played other Australian cities, and toured relentlessly overseas. Now since the three live apart from each other in Paris, Melbourne, and New York, they only occasionally regroup to record and tour.

There are at least eight artists sharing the name Mono; The name is used by a Japanese post-rock band, a British trip-hop band, a Dutch post-rock band, a female Austrian reggae artist, a Swedish trance artist, a Korean pop ballad trio, a Polish hip-hop band and a new Dutch indie rock band.

Mr. Maps

Mr. Maps are a five-piece instrumental rock band from Brisbane, Australia. Since their inception in 2007, Mr. Maps have quickly earned a reputation for transcendental live performances showcasing complex layers of bass, drums and guitar lifted by lush piano and cello, and punctuated by electronic glitches and tones. Mr. Maps’ compositions are experimental and meticulous with an air of optimism and beauty, blending math-rock with elements of New York post-classical and electronics.

Karma To Burn

Karma to Burn is an American instrumental stoner rock band. The band was formed in 1994, in Hicksville, West Virginia (actually Morgantown, West Virginia, though this was a running joke also reflected in bios of the band on other Web sites). The band is currently located in Los Angeles. Their instrumental album Almost Heathen is widely regarded as on par Kyuss' Welcome To Sky Valley and Monster Magnet's Spine of God, as one of the defining albums of the stoner rock genre, although the band themselves referred to their style as malternative.

Sydney Symphony Orchestra

1932 was a momentous year for Sydney. The Sydney Harbour Bridge, an engineering miracle of the day was opened in March. In July 1932 the Australian Broadcasting Corporation was established, and with it the group of musicians that would become the Sydney Symphony. The Orchestra consisted of just 24 players, who performed incidental music for radio plays, music for the dinner hour and broadcasts of concert repertoire.
