Sydney Symphony Orchestra

1932 was a momentous year for Sydney. The Sydney Harbour Bridge, an engineering miracle of the day was opened in March. In July 1932 the Australian Broadcasting Corporation was established, and with it the group of musicians that would become the Sydney Symphony. The Orchestra consisted of just 24 players, who performed incidental music for radio plays, music for the dinner hour and broadcasts of concert repertoire.

Paul Gilbert is well known for his highly-acclaimed technical guitar work with <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Racer+X" class="bbcode_artist">Racer X</a> and <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Mr.+Big" class="bbcode_artist">Mr. Big</a> . Joe "Satch" Satriani (born on July 15, 1956, in Westbury, New York and brought up in Carle Place, New York, USA) is an instrumental rock guitarist and teacher, and a recognized virtuoso of the rock guitar. Guitarists Alex Skolnick, Larry Lalonde, Steve Vai, Charlie Hunter and Kirk Hammett were among his students. Satriani often tours as the guitar playing trio G3, usually with Steve Vai. Joe Satriani was inspired to play guitar at age 14 after hearing that Jimi Hendrix had died.

The Untied Knot consists of guitarist Nigel Bryant and percussionist Matt Donovan. Its music is a fusion of acoustic guitar filigrees, synthesizer and percussion, notably tablas and glockenspiel. Jakob

Jakob is a New Zealand post-rock band, based in Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. The band consists of guitarist Jeff Boyle; bassist Maurice Beckett; and drummer Jason Johnston. They have been compared to such bands as Mogwai, Sonic Youth, and HDU, though they largely eschew any vocals or samples in their songs. The band formed in July 1998, and began by opening for New Zealand bands Salmonella Dub and Pitch Black at the local pub O'Flaherty's. They toured extensively throughout 1999, releasing that same year a self-titled EP recorded with David Holmes at Napier's Venn Production Studios.

Ratatat

Ratatat, from Brooklyn, New York, United States is an electronic music duo with post rock influences: guitarist Mike Stroud and synthesizer driver and producer Evan Mast (E*vax). Stroud and Mast originally met as students at Skidmore College, but did not work together musically until 2001, when their project was named Cherry (later the name of the final song in their debut album). Written and recorded in the bedroom of Mast's Crown Heights, Brooklyn apartment, the band's debut album Ratatat for XL Recordings was released in 2004.

Steve "Luke" Lukather (born October 21, 1957 in San Fernando Valley, California) is a session musician, songwriter, arranger, producer and guitar player, best known for his work with pop/prog-rock band Toto. In addition to his work with Toto, Lukather has released several solo albums. Lukather made himself famous by being the most sought-after session guitarist in LA in the 70s and 80s. He would walk into a studio last minute and lay down perfect tracks the first time, in whatever style required.
