Ellie stumbled head first into the world of circus as an adult in 2017 through community circus programs, and since then, has been captivated by everything circus can offer - artistic expression, collaboration, community, a constant stream of new and exciting challenges and possibilities.
Ellie specialises in contortion and aerial hoop, and can often be found in the circus studio working on her handstands, bending over backwards or spinning at dizzying speeds. Ellie prides herself on her unique and hypnotizing movement art that is the result of collaboration and learning from many different circus artists, master coaches and community circus spaces. Ellie's extensive circus training includes instruction and guidance from Gravity Dolls Studio, Catie Brier Contortion, Rebecca Star, NICA, The Flying Fruit Fly Circus, Dr Jennifer Crane (Cirque Physio), and more.
Ellie aims to share the beautiful art of contortion in a way that moves people, using her body as an instrument to tell stories and portray emotions. Ellie hopes to bend people's perception of what the human body is capable of through fluid, jaw dropping displays of strength and flexibility. In addition to contortion and aerial hoop, Ellie also has high skill in aerial cloud swing, aerial straps, trapeze, tumbling and hand balancing.
