It was in 2018 that the Gilsons began their promising career, under this name – as obvious as it is brilliant.
With a successful series of releases, including the hits “Várias queixas” and “Devagarinho”, José, João and Francisco Gil, respectively son and grandson of the great patriarch of the family and master of MPB, spread an auspicious message of trust, love and light.
Their EP “Várias Queixas” (2019) gave the group a series of hits in partnerships with prominent names in Brazilian music, such as “Love, Love”, a track that has achieved stratospheric numbers on digital platforms. Amid the pandemic, the trio seemed to handpick the right tracks to warm up the audience. In 2020, Gilsons released “Índia”, in partnership with Júlia Mestre; “Devagarinho”, with Mariana Volker; and “Besteira”, with the duo Yoún.
In 2022, Gilsons released their first studio album “Pra Gente Acordar”, a project that consolidated the trio's name in the Brazilian music scene. That same year, they released “Deixa Fluir” with the group Big Up; “Algum Ritmo”, with Jovem Dionísio; and a remix of “Love, Love” made by Alok.
In 2023, “Céu Rosé” was a partnership with the Minas Gerais group Lagum. During the carnival of that same year, João, José and Francisco joined BaianaSystem and Tropkillaz on the single “Presente”. In 2024, Gilsons announced the release of “Feito a Maré”, a partnership with Jota.pê and “ME LIGA”, with Murilo Chester.
