Polygon Palace formed after a chance encounter between recreational time-traveller Adam Ferns and future-street-tough Gabriel Crossan, at The Polygon Palace Of Time Adventure ($5 Wednesdays), when both decided to go for the 'Super Saver Spin'. Several random eras and misadventures later, they placed their arms outside the ride and crash-landed in Melbourne in the early 21st century. Determined to raise enough money for a ticket home, they formed a band, harnessing the medium of popular song to share their experiences of vampire-hunting robots...

Midfield General, real name Damian Harris, is the original founder of the Skint Records label, which became the forerunner of the big success of Norman Cook's Fatboy Slim. Midfield General is the recording alias of Skint label boss Damian Harris. A prime architect of the sound of big beat, Harris grew up listening first to punk rock, then hip-hop, and finally acid house. He then moved to Brighton to study art, eventually taking work as a DJ while promoting clubs around the city.

Sonic Animation were an Australian band that made electronic music from many genres. Rupert Keiller and Adrian Cartwright were with the group through the entirety of its existence, but they also performed with others including Steve Berschtick, who was with the group when it formed, and Erica Mclean who sung the female vocals on the new tracks on their greatest hits album Eleven. The group split up in 2006.

In a sea of postmodern hipsters come bedroom producers on a sparkling lilo of talent. Russ Chimes is a man from the UK who knows whats in the party. Sounding a bit like something halfway between a Sega game and an airbrushed mural of Wayfarer'd flamingos, Russ Chimes' tunes may at times elicit some degree of nostalgia, although the inherent quality definitley proves he's more about about doing what feels good rather than the irony.
