The Duchesses

The Duchesses sound is the manifestation of four musicians from very different backgrounds. Their broad spectrum of influences is evident in their atmospheric music, which transcends arbitrary genres. Not satisfied with following trends, the Duchesses have forged their own unique sound. Their debut album guides listeners through a dark sonic landscape of resonating guitars, bold rhythms and dynamic vocals, all surging into intricate and aggressive harmony.

Icehouse

They were formed in 1977 as Flowers by Iva Davies (born Ivor Arthur Davies, on 22 May 1955, in Wauchope, New South Wales, Australia), who was the main creative force, and a classically trained musician; and bass player, Keith Welsh. For a number of years they also obtained the services of Bob Kretschmer, until he was replaced by young guitarist Paul Gildea. Since 1980 Icehouse has released seven albums, several compilations, and music from collaborations with other artists including dance companies.

Adelaide Symphony Orchestra

The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (also known as the ASO) was founded as a 17 player radio ensemble in 1936, in Adelaide, South Australia. The orchestra reformed in 1949 as the 55 member South Australian Symphony Orchestra. It reverted to its original and present title, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, in 1975, and currently comprises 74 permanent members. Its music director since 2004 has been Arvo Volmer.

Dog Trumpet

Dog Trumpet is the vehicle for the musical activities of brothers Peter O’Doherty and Reg Mombassa. They formed the band in 1990 to record and play their original songs. They play as an acoustic duo or as a full band with various line-ups of guest musicians.
Reg and Peter were long-time members of Mental as Anything but they left the Mentals at the dawn of the third Millennium to concentrate on their artwork.

Distant Wreck

In a short two years West Melbourne band Distant Wreck have become an integral part of Melbourne's quickly emerging "new blood". Having joined many of the countries finest bands on stage (Carpathian, Miles Away, Break Even, Hopeless) as well as internationals Shai Hulud and Ruiner; Distant Wreck are now ready to make their presence known as a band who holds their own. Their recently recorded “United Nothings" release is a five track precursor to the bands full length to be recorded in April this year.
