Spiritualized is an English rock band formed in 1990 in Rugby, Warwickshire, United Kingdom by Jason Pierce, who often goes by the alias J. Spaceman, after the spectacular demise of the Spacemen 3 outfit. The membership of Spiritualized changes from album to album, with Pierce being the only constant factor. The first Spiritualized release was a space rock-esque cover of Any Way That You Want Me in 1990, a record which heralded the official split of Spacemen 3 following contractual wrangles over the band's name.
Kurt Vile is a guitarist and singer from Philadelphia. He was previously the lead guitarist in the band The War on Drugs and also has a burgeoning solo career. He was signed by Matador Records in May 2009 as a solo artist. His music has been likened to Bruce Springsteen, Bob Seger, and Tom Petty. His first album for Matador, titled Childish Prodigy was released in October 2009. Prior to signing with Matador, Vile released two albums, God is Saying This to You and Constant Hitmaker, on Mexican Summer and Woodsist, respectively.
MGMT is a neo-psychedelic/alternative group which formed in 2002 in Brooklyn, New York, United States. The band consists of multi-instrumentalists Andrew VanWyngarden (vocals, guitar, keyboards, drums) and Ben Goldwasser (vocals, keyboards, synths, drums), both alumni of Wesleyan University. X-Dream are Marcus Christian Maichel (born May 1968) and Jan Muller (born February 1970); they are also known as Rough and Rush. They are producers of psychedelic trance music and hail from Hamburg, Germany. Although their music retains the 4/4 drum patterns of Goa trance music and has a dependence on riffs, X-Dream has a unique sounds different from most other artists in the genre. They are well-known for their high quality of production and well-placed psychedelic sounds.
Here We Go Magic is an indie rock group which formed in Brooklyn New York, United States in 2008.
