Indie Rock

Dan Vogl

Dan Vogl is a high vibe, indie rock n’ roll artist, from Melbourne, Australia. At age 10, Dan picked up a broken acoustic guitar from the side of the road in a hard rubbish collection. He repaired it with duct tape and went on to teach himself how to play guitar, sing and write songs.

In 2017 Dan released his debut single ‘If I Die’ after being awarded a songwriters scholarship at The Australian College of the Arts. It received airtime on Triple J, a video feature from Speaker TV and was used in the TV series ’600 Bottles of Wine” on Network 10 and Netflix.

In 2018 Dan participated in a music mentoring program through ‘The Push’ and received mentoring from Darren Middleton. (Powderfinger)

In 2019 Dan worked with producer Joel Quartermain, (Eskimo Joe) to record his debut EP ‘Gifted In Gold.’ This saw him receive further airtime on Triple J, chart in the Top 10 on the ‘Amrap’ Regional Charts, as well as receiving press attention from Tone Deaf, Music Feeds, Beat and Forté. Later that year Dan travelled to North America and performed countless shows in Canada.

In 2020 Dan participated in the Music Victoria Artist Consultancy program, where he gained mentoring from prolific music manager, Michael Parisi. (Vera Blue, Xavier Rudd)

In 2021 Dan’s follow up single ‘Bland Francisco’ saw a change of direction sonically, working with producer Alex Markwell. (The Delta Riggs)This was rewarded with a plethora of community radio play and interviews, alongside the addition to MTV Upload programming.

In 2022 Dan released ‘Let Down.’ Again, working with Markwell, he pursued an indie rock ’n roll sound with a political sentiment.

Dan has shown versatility in his live performances, supporting the likes of indie rockers British India, folk singer/songwriter Bob Evans and has toured with new wavers, Pseudo Echo. Dan has performed at festivals like The Hills Are Alive and Eltham Street Festival and has headlined shows at iconic Melbourne venues like Northcote Social Club, The Gasometer, and The Workers Club.

Maddy Jane

With millions of streams for breakout tracks ‘Thank You and Sorry’ and ‘No Other Way’, Maddy’s ironic and direct storytelling is resonating across the globe.

After two years of heavy touring and sold out shows, Maddy released her debut full-length album, ‘Not All Bad Or Good’ in 2020. The bad books

The Bad Books is an American indie rock band formed in early 2010, and is composed of indie folk artist Kevin Devine and members of indie rock band Manchester Orchestra along with drummer Benjamin Homola. The collaboration began when Kevin toured along with Manchester Orchestra in November–December 2008 in support of his EP I Could Be with Anyone, and followed by the release of the split EP entitled I Could Be the Only One in January 2010.[1][2]

A self-titled full-length album by the band was released digitally on October 19, 2010, and on a physical CD on November 9, 2010.[3] A second album, simply entitled II, followed two years later, on October 9, 2012.

Big Moist and the Smoking Durries

Big Moist and the Smoking Durries are 3 geezers and a gal from the suburbs of Naarm/Melbourne, Australia, who love singing about beers and having a right good old time!

With hints of indie tones and shameful confessions, BMSD continue to staple themselves on the Aussie music scene, with their ecstatic, hard-hitting and carefree aesthetic coupled with some of the most relatable tracks ever written!

The Velvet Club

Kicking off 2024 with a headline AUS tour and supporting international acts Louis Tomlinson and Sun Room. Naarm/Melbourne based indie outfit The Velvet Club have had a huge 12 months touring AUS three times in support of DICE, Ra Ra Viper & The Rions alongside debut festival appearances at Splendour in the Grass, Icebreaker and Now & Again.

Creating hazy Indie-rock, reminiscent of early 2000s Indie coupled with self reflective lyricism about navigating life through your 20's. The band, through regular nationwide touring, has been steadily growing a fan base around the country since their inception in 2018.

Returning in 2024 with the first single from their forthcoming EP. The 5-piece are set to release ‘Sleeping In' and announce an 11 date Australian Tour including a support slot with Louis Tomlinson in Melbourne and two dates at Tone City Festival in WA. Tickets for their headline shows are on sale now.

Vacations

Australian indie rock band Vacations developed a following first at home and then around the world for their smooth-surfaced music built around the interplay of guitar and electronic keyboards and seasoned with the influences of lo-fi, indie pop, and 1980s alternative sounds. Led by guitarist and principal songwriter Campbell Burns, Vacations' early work, such as the 2015 Days EP, made an advantage of their low-budget production, with the music having a naturalistic, live feel. It wasn't long before they became more comfortable with studio craft, and 2018's Changes and 2020's Forever in Bloom revealed a greater sophistication. Released in 2023, their Terms & Conditions EP added a more emotional, personal tone to Burns' performances.

Vibes
Hailing from Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, Vacations were formed in 2015 by vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Campbell Burns. Initially taking a D.I.Y. approach, Burns self-released the band's first EP, 2015's Days, which featured bassist Jake Johnson and drummer Harrison Chapman. By the time Vacations brought out their second EP, 2016's Vibes, the group had settled on a stable lineup, with Burns and Johnson joined by lead guitarist Nate Delizzotti and drummer Joseph Van Lier. Vibes included the song "Young," which became their breakthrough track after it went viral on social media, pushing the song's streaming numbers into nine figures. Extensive touring followed, and in 2017, the Days and Vibes EPs were given a two-fer reissue on compact disc. 2018 saw the release of Vacations' first full-length album, 2018's Changes. The album gave the group another massive hit with the song "Telephones," and the band was filling large venues at home and in the United Kingdom as well as making their United States debut at the South by Southwest festival. After issuing a stand-alone single in 2019, "On Your Own," the second LP from Vacations, Forever in Bloom, was issued in 2020, though the band's efforts to promote it were compromised by the COVID-19 pandemic, which made touring impossible. Burns retreated to his home and began writing new material while beginning work on building his own recording studio. Once the studio was complete, Vacations recorded a three-song EP, Terms & Conditions, which appeared in July 2023; along with the title track, it included two successful singles, "Midwest" and "Next Exit."

The Knews

Fresh from across the ditch, The Knews is the brainchild of Cullen Kiesanowski who, to his 26-year-old name, already has a goldselling single, countless tours around the globe and an Aotearoa Music Award nomination as a writer and performer in 'nomad'. While following a similar trajectory and featuring the same level of anthemic sing-along-abilty, The Knews is a stylistic departure from Kiesanowski's previous project. Grungey and guitar driven, glued together by spacey synths, the influence of acts including Beach Fossils, The Drums and Car Seat Headrest can be heard.
