Nathan Fake

Nathan Fake is 27 years of age (born in 1983), and yes, that is his real name. He hails from that most unlikely hotbed of new musical talent, the deepest, darkest farmer country of Norfolk, UK. Two years ago Nathan, headed for the bright lights and big city of Reading(!), and since then has never looked back. Nathan exploded onto the scene last year with the mighty ‘Outhouse’ on James Holden’s Border Community label, one of the most astounding debut singles in a long time which has surely now earned classic status, still receiving regular club and radio plays one year down the line.

Jonny Telafone

Steeped in the heartache and boredom that can come with being heartbroken and bored Jonny Telafone's music does not fall easily into any sub-genre or scene. It's all pop music...Hit after hit

Teengirl Fantasy

Teengirl Fantasy is Logan and Nick, two friends at Oberlin College in Ohio. It's tough to classify Teengirl Fantasy's music within one genre - both Harmonia and CeCe Peniston serve as equal reference points. Teengirl Fantasy's love of drone, 4/4, and warm gating synths force new classifications of electronic music. Their debut album, 7AM, was released in September 2010 through True Panther Sounds/Merok labels.

Lapalux

Sounds move with curious steps in the music of Lapalux, the solo project of Essex's Stuart Howard. His IDM and hip-hop influenced beat collages unfold like individual short stories, their layered tones playing into your emotions. The thud of bass pulses throughout his tracks, a steady stream of heartbeats that rise in and fall reaction to the excitement, the trepidation and the moments of calm reflection set by the marriage of vocal samples and experimental beatmaking.

SBTRKT

SBTRKT is an anonymous producer based in London. Graciously allowing the music to speak for itself - even going to the length of performing behind a mask every time he plays out. Having just wrapped up remixes for Basement Jaxx (‘Scars’) and Franz Ferdinand (‘Send Him Away’), he’s got the airwaves in a stir with Benji B, Mary Anne Hobbs and Gilles Peterson singing his praises. With releases forthcoming on the equally anonymous Brainmath label, Ramp Recordings and the ever fun Young Turks. 5 things about SBTRKT:

The Juan MacLean

Prior to becoming one of the most significant acts on the DFA label, John Maclean was a member of Sub Pop band Six Finger Satellite. Initially, Six Finger Satellite fit in with the remainder of the Sub Pop roster, but after one EP, they took a sharp turn into herky-jerky post-punk that was inspired by Devo, Big Black, and Suicide instead of Black Sabbath, The Stooges, and Led Zeppelin.
By the time they went to record their final album, 1998's Law Of Ruins, krautrock began to play a major role, and so did LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy...
