Grassroots Street Orchestra began as a jam band to fill a set at a small Gold Coast hinterland folk festival in early 2005. In just two rehearsals they formed their unique sound blending Australian hip-hop with live original organic blues, roots, folk-rock and reggae. After a few months wondering what to do with their music they re-formed as a five piece at first then quickly grew to six. With members spread between Brisbane and the Gold Coast they began doing supports for Australian roots music artists such as Carus & The True Believers...

There is more than one band with this name. 1. Rook were a rock band from Melbourne, Victoria. Formed in 2005 and split up in 2010. They played their last show at the Corner Hotel on 30th of January 2010. “… Melbourne heavy rockers Rook fired up the crowd with tracks from their ’Transitions’ EP. Whilst being a sonically impressive recording, Transitions really comes to life in a live capacity, each track inflating, amplifying and escalating flaunting layers of sound often veiled by the recording process.

Formed in early 2005 in Brisbane, Australia. DEAD LETTER OPENER met whilst they were studying music and technology at a Brisbane University, and initially formed the group to complete a recording project imperative to two of the members studies. The potential of becoming a full-time was realised almost immediately and DLO set out to finalise their debut EP and secure national distribution for it.
