The Swiss

In a time when everyone who isn't Laidback Luke is claiming to be a "disco act", there is an insurmountable wash of pretenders. Australian trio The Swiss, however, are a legit live disco band who's existence is based entirely on flavour and good times rather than the Cobra Snake and fitted caps. (NERDY BIT: They are a band who are getting Giancarlo Meo tattoos rather than looking up Giorgio Moroder best-of tracklists)

Teengirl Fantasy

Teengirl Fantasy is Logan and Nick, two friends at Oberlin College in Ohio. It's tough to classify Teengirl Fantasy's music within one genre - both Harmonia and CeCe Peniston serve as equal reference points. Teengirl Fantasy's love of drone, 4/4, and warm gating synths force new classifications of electronic music. Their debut album, 7AM, was released in September 2010 through True Panther Sounds/Merok labels.

Rubix

Rubix’s style is reminiscent of the Rubix cube: it looks much more simple than it actually is. This mix-master can scratch like a madman, and mixes his records so smooth and fast that you sometimes find yourself dancing to one song while the next one is already playing. Rubix’s sets contain everything from Nu Disco to Fidget, and from Baltimore to Electro. His wide range of influences include A-trak, Diplo, Laidback Luke, DJ Sneak, Phoenix, Boys Noize, Armand van Helden and M.I.A.
