Circa Survive

Circa Survive is an alternative rock band consisting of former Saosin vocalist Anthony Green and members of the now-defunct This Day Forward, including guitarists Brendan Ekstrom and Colin Frangicetto. Compared to the sound of Green's former group, the music of Circa Survive taps a different musical influence for Green, who cites Paul Simon, Dredg, and Björk among later artists who have more influence on his vocal stylings in Circa Survive which are comparatively less aggressive, as well as his songwriting.

Acumen

Acumen relates to 4 artists: 1. French tech-house producer Antoine Garcin. 2. Prog Rock, Glitch, Post Rock, Ambient, Acoustic, Electro, Experimental producer on Benbecula records. 3. The former name of coldwave band <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Acumen+Nation" class="bbcode_artist">Acumen Nation</a>. "Nation" was added due to a legal dispute over the name. 4. Experimental, Indie, Rock, one-man banded vision that began as a vibration. Then became light. Then became matter. Now misses being a vibration. This is what that sadness sounds like.

Pierce the Veil

Pierce the Veil, formerly known as Before Today, are a post-hardcore band from San Diego, California. Pierce the Veil were formed in the fall of 1998 under the name Early Times. After recording an EP titled Roots Beneath Ideals, they signed to Equal Vision. Due to copyright issues, the band released their next album, A Celebration of An Ending, under the name Before Today, which was taken from the title of a song off No Turning Back, an EP released under Early Times.

Yeasayer

Yeasayer is a band based in Brooklyn, New York. The band was formed in 2006 and consists of three core members, Chris Keating, Ira Wolf Tuton, and Anand Wilder. They first came to attention after appearing at the SXSW festival in early 2007. Their debut album All Hour Cymbals was released in October 2007. Yeasayer described their music as "Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel". Live performances often include psychedelic visuals.

Yeasayer released their second studio album, Odd Blood, in February 2010, featuring more pop music influences than earlier work. The band revealed that the album came out of a massive acid trip in New Zealand. Peter Gabrielâ€™s drummer Jerry Marotta helped to record Odd Blood in an upstate New York studio packed with rare synths and percussion instruments from around the globe to create the characteristic worldbeat sound of the album.

Yeasayer released their third studio album, Fragrant World, in August 2012. According to the Fingers Never Bleed Songfacts, it was named after a track that didn't make the new album's final cut. KRISTEENYOUNG is a piano/keyboard and drums "rock" duo, in the golden years sense of the word, when rock was simultaneously adventurous, original, scary and fun. The pair is made up of singer, writer, pianist/keyboardist, Kristeen Young and drummer "Baby" Jeff White. Kristeen's distinctive voice has been heralded, by many, as the best new voice in rock. She bashes, slams and bangs her piano/keyboard in a rock-riff manner, while running it through effects pedals to make it sound like a cross between a piano and guitar.

Akron/Family

Akron/Family is a folk-influenced experimental rock band that formed in 2002, and is currently based in New York on the Dead Oceans label. Though each member of the band — Miles Seaton, Seth Olinsky, Dana Janssen and formerly Ryan Vanderhoof can be relegated to loosely defined roles (drummer, guitarist, bassist, vocalist), all of them in fact play several instruments and sing, as evidenced by their shows and recorded material.
