Russian Circles

Russian Circles is a three piece instrumental post-rock/post-metal band from Chicago. The band plays epic, sprawling music which runs the gamut of heavy discordant metal to soft delicate passages. They are also known for their energetic live shows, which include tours with Tool, Red Sparowes, Minus the Bear and Daughters, as well as appearances at the 2006, 2007 & 2008 SXSW festivals. Explosions In The Sky

Explosions In The Sky is an American instrumental post-rock band, which formed in Austin, Texas in 1999. Spokes

Spokes are an alt-indie band based in Manchester, UK. Brought together in 2006 by a combination of boyhood friendships, family ties and a relentless love of recording and touring. They quickly made a name for themselves as a loud and passionate band as they travelled the country in cramped vans, steadily perfecting their ecstatic highs and devastating lows. In 2007 they recorded their debut EP People Like People Like You which combined their folk inflected indie with more flowing structures influenced by post-rock and classical music.

The Paper and The Plane

The Paper And The Plane are a band from Brisbane, Australia. The band is the result of (now defunct) post hardcore band Asleep at the Scene, merging with solo artist Dan van Zuthpen of chalkandcheese - formerly Nice Guys Finish - in 2006. The name of the group originated from a line in the song ‘A Letter’ by emo/indie band Mineral. Their sound is quite liberally referred to as ‘post-everything’ due to its distinctively hybrid style and vast influences such as Moneen, Mono and Planes Mistaken for Stars.

The Silent World

The Silent World are an instrumental quintet from Perth, Western Australia. Equally inspired by experimental post-rock, noise and new wave, the band's sound has evolved considerably over its brief history, refined through a series of demo recordings and intense live shows. Xiu Xiu

Xiu Xiu is an experimental band originally from San Jose, California and currently based in Durham, NC and Brooklyn. The band is named after the main character of the 1998 Chinese film "Tian yu" (a.k.a. "Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl") Xiu Xiu was first formed in 2000 and is the main project of singer-songwriter Jamie Stewart, who records with friends on his home computer. Stewart's cousin, Caralee McElroy joined the band in 2003 and was the only other permanent member of the band until her departure in early 2009.
