What about the man behind the Lightspeed Champion moniker? Who is he? Where did he come from? How much free time does he have? Working backwards: very little. Devonté Hynes is a man who doesn’t like to sit around waiting for results; by the time the results are in, he’s on to bigger and better, or at the very least worse but different. A selected history of Dev rather breathlessly testifies to as much:

GB3

GB is Glenn Bennie, a driving force behind the Underground Lovers, one of Australia's most innovative bands of the '90s. The collaborators are a mix of Glenn's musical heroes (including Steve Kilbey and the late-great Grant McLennan) and the hottest new stars in Australian independent music (including Sarah Blasko and Sianna from Love Outside Andromeda).

The Finishing School

What has become The Finishing School today began as a humble acoustic trio in 2001, under the guise of EmcTrio. This soon grew to include a cello and drum kit. Armed with this array of strings and percussion the EmCQuintet began to flirt with audiences all over Adelaide. As the seasons passed things changed, as they do. An electric bass was found, and then later a cello was lost, and various musicians found their way in or out of the band.
