Hannah Kate

In a world gone sour Naarm based trio Hannah Kate are making changes for the good, with a new lineup, new outlook and brand new single titled ‘Test Run’.

After a break following her acclaimed 2020 release ‘Sunday Mourning’, Hannah and her band are back with a new direction, swinging a darker tone indicative of the lessons and experiences learnt in their hiatus, all the while still maintaining the classic witticisms and youthful outlook that carried them to the mainstage in the first place.

‘Test Run’ is easily the trio’s most dramatic release yet, with lyrics drenched in existentialism and perhaps a seasonal red, the track exudes the same energy as Hannah’s earlier releases but with slightly burnt edges- almost as though the track was the last thing she managed to grab when running out of a house fire. Test Run was recorded by Fabian Hunter at the Fishbone Shack Studio and mixed and mastered by Sam Swain of Sunset Pigs Studios, previous production credits include Obscura Hail & Rat!Hammock.

While Test Run is Hannah’s first release since Pluto entered Aquarius, her and her band have kept busy with the occasional highly anticipated set amongst local heavy weights Lothario, Serpette, Smooch, Teether, Blonde Revolver, Hannah Blackburn and many more.

Hannah Kate will be launching Test Run on Saturday October 5th, 2024 at Thornbury’s Cactus Room with support from Milly Strange and BUGHUNT.
