Datarock

Datarock is a Norwegian band. The band describes their sound as "a mixture of musical styles like." A trio of friends, Fredrik Saroea, Ketil Mosnes and Kevin O'Brien, conceived the group while at a festival in Bergen, and soon hired Tom Mæland. O'Brien and Mæland later left the band, but the duo of Saroea and Mosnes continued the project. The band members list their major artistic influences as Devo, Talking Heads and the Happy Mondays.

Simian Mobile Disco

A London, UK production & remix team. Formed from the ashes of Simian in 2005 its members are James Ford and Jas Shaw. In addition to his work with Simian Mobile Disco, James Ford is a producer and has worked for bands such as the Arctic Monkeys, Peaches and Klaxons. Simian Mobile Disco was originally formed as a traveling DJ duet, playing on the side of their early four-piece band Simian. They ultimately released a number of low profile singles, such as "The Count" on Kitsuné Music, but arguably gained more fame for their remixes of artists such as Muse...

South Central

South Central Described variously as: a Post Glitch; Indie/Electro; Dance-Rocktronica band. Based in Brighton UK these producers work autonomously or with a band live and have carved out a niche converting new Indie Rock tracks to the dance floor. These are trade marked by their intense electro-glitch laden intro's combined with guitar riffs inspired by cited influences such as the Fall, Banshees, Pavement and Interpol.

Art vs. Science

ART.vs.SCIENCE is a psychological experiment. Songs are crafted carefully according to principles abstracted from the study of human responses to music. Each show is a test of these responses and how they differ in comparison to the manipulation of certain musical elements. Upon complete and exhaustive analysis of the relationship between artistic tools (tempo, rhythm, vocal content, video-imagery and structure) and the human response, ART.vs.SCIENCE intends to publicise its findings.

Klaxons

Klaxons are a psychedelic pop band based in London. The band consists of Jamie Reynolds (bass, vocals), James Righton (keyboards, vocals) and Simon Taylor-Davies (guitar) with drummer Steffan Halperin being officially added in 2007. Reynolds, Righton and Taylor-Davies formed the band in New Cross, London, United Kingdom, in 2005 Their debut single, "Gravity's Rainbow" was released on 29 March 2006 as a 500 copies limited 7-inch vinyl, decorated by the band themselves.

New Young Pony Club

New Young Pony Club (NYPC) is a five-piece electro band from London consisting of Tahita Bulmer (vocals), Andy Spence (guitar), Lou Hayter (keyboards) and Sarah Jones (drums), and they provide a kind of tight and bass-heavy future discoid noise. Partly inspired by LCD Soundsystem and a chance meeting of like-minded band members intent on establishing something potent, Andy and Tahita formed NYPC in 2005. The band's bassist Igor Volk, quit the band in 2009. Ice Cream, their first single on Modular, was recently used in a television advert, commissioned by Intel for their new Duo processors.

Does It Offend You, Yeah?

Does It Offend You, Yeah? are an alternative/electronic band which formed in Reading, England in 2006. The band currently consists of James Rushent (vocals, guitar), Matty Derham (guitar, synthesizer), Chloe Duveaux (bass), Dan Coop (synthesizer) and Rob Bloomfield (drums). Guitarist Morgan Quaintance left the band in mid-2009. They released their first album, You Have No Idea What You're Getting Yourself Into on March 24, 2008. They are currently recording their follow up album, Don't Say We Didn't Warn You.

Formed in the early part of 2005, Van She is a band from Sydney. Unashamedly taking bits and bobs from 80’s post punk, funk and synth pop, 90’s grunge, french house, film scores, 70’s krautrock and the latest collection of innovative artists like Tom Vek and M83, Van She is that unique beast that one was beginning to believe no longer existed – a band that takes all these influences from days gone but makes them sound unique, modern, and…. fresh. A lazy pastiche this isn’t.

Crystal Castles

Crystal Castles is an experimental electronic band which formed in 2003 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and consists of producer Ethan Kath and vocalist Alice Glass. They are named after the lyrics "The fate of the world is safe in Crystal Castles" and "Crystal Castles, the source of all power" both from the theme song for She-Ra's fortress. They are known for their melancholic lo-fi sound and their explosive live shows. Their debut album was included in NME's "Top 50 Albums of the Decade".
