Tahuna Breaks are an uplifting reggae / funk / soul band based in Auckland. They formed following inspiring jams that stretched from a garage in Onehunga to the remoteness of Piha on Auckland’s west coast. Diplo and Switch certainly live the life. Hugely successful DJs/producers in their own right, last year they joined forces and headed to Jamaica to explore their Rasta roots. The locals were a bit dubious about their dancehall credentials--Diplo, being a skinny white kid from Philly, and Switch, being a baldy, beardy ginge from Birmingham--but the pair proved their worth in the studio and have recorded with artists like Elephant Man, Gyptian, and T.O.K. http://www.majorlazer.com/

Jamaica, formerly known as Poney Poney is Antoine Hilaire and Flo Lyonnet. These guys are dropping new tracks with Justice's Xavier de Rosnay and Daft Punk sound Engineer Peter Franco on the production. Their first single was "I Think I Like U 2". The second song they released was "Short and Entertaining", which was featured on the 9th installment of the Kitsuné Maison Compilation series. The imaginative recordings produced by Mad Professor (born Neil Fraser 1955, Georgetown in Guyana) demonstrate a mastery of electronic gadgetry. Working from his own studios, Mad Professor has overseen more than two hundred albums including ground-breaking remixes for Massive Attack, Sade, and Pato Banton. Born in Guyana, Fraser earned the Mad Professor tag from his childhood fascination with electronics. At the age of nine or ten he built a radio from scratch. Moving to London at the age of thirteen, Mad Professor continued to experiment with electronics.
Ky-Mani Marley (born February 26, 1976, in Falmouth, Jamaica) is a Jamaican actor and reggae musician. He is the son of singer Bob Marley and table tennis champion Anita Belnavis, and the half-brother of Ziggy Marley. Marley's first appearance as musician took place in 1996 when he recorded Like Father Like Son, an album consisting of cover versions of some of his father's songs. His next album, 1999's "The Journey", received mass critical acclaim, and achieved relatively good sales. His 2001 album, "Many More Roads", was nominated for a Grammy for best reggae album.
Jimmy Cliff OM (born James Chambers, 1 April 1948, St Catherine, Jamaica) is a Jamaican reggae musician. He is best known among mainstream audiences for songs like "Sittin' in Limbo", "You Can Get It If You Really Want" and "Many Rivers to Cross" from The Harder They Come, a film soundtrack which helped popularise reggae across the world.
