City Calm Down

City Calm Down is a live electronic four piece from Melbourne, Australia. With varying degrees of influence stemming from post-punk, disco, jazz, and techno they're making an interesting brand of electronic dance pop. Their live show involves extensive use of samplers, synthesizers, sequencers and drum modules as well as the use of more traditional instruments such as bass guitar, saxophone, voice and kit. Mondo Rock

Mondo Rock were an 80s institution in popular Australian rock, a big draw on the live circuit who charted numerous hits. The band was formed in late 1976 by frontman Ross Wilson and went through various line-up changes to start with. They reform from time to time to play (including in April 2007). The most famous line-up consisted of prolific songwriters Ross Wilson (ex Daddy Cool) and guitarist Eric McCusker (who luckily pestered Wilson to let him join, doing three auditions, after the initial outing of Mondo Rock had lost momentum) as well as Paul Christie on bass (ex-Kevin Borich Express...

The Idea of North

The Idea of North is an Australian a cappella quartet, originally composed of Trish Delaney-Brown (Soprano), Megan Corson (Alto), Nick Begbie (Tenor), and Andrew Piper (Bass). They formed in 1993, while studying music at the Australian National University in Canberra, with their first album The Idea of North recorded in 1997. They followed this up with their second album The Sum of Us. When Megan left to move to Melbourne in 2002, they recruited Naomi Crellin to fill the slot.

The Scandal

THE SCANDAL is a three-piece progressive punk band from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The band is comprised of Nic White, Mat Cocks, and Liam White. 2009 sees THE SCANDAL issue its first vinyl release, the Edges / Seasickness 7". The double-A sided EP sees the band exploring more weighty, measured material. Making a feature of the overlapping and intertwining vocals of all three members, the new songs bring an intensity born of restraint, showcasing just three instruments played rythmically and relentlessly.

Clare Bowditch

Clare Bowditch is a a critically acclaimed, ARIA award-winning singer from Melbourne, Victoria. She came to prominence in 2005 with the release of her second album "What Was Left", which received excellent critical reviews, high rotation airplay on radio station Triple J and moderate commercial success.

Her sweet folk-pop style has been compared to that of Cat Power and Beth Orton.

For Our Hero

For Our Hero is an unsigned pop rock band from Melbourne, Australia. The band formed two years ago and have recently released their debut EP 'Threw the Looking-Glass'. Taplin brothers Jay, on vocals and Beau who writes the band's lyrics, Dave Tran and Leon Blair on guitar, while Geoff Taylor and Nax Vee complete the six piece band, play bass and drums. With pitch perfect melodies, beats and rythym as rocking as they come, lyrics as witty and fresh as the song names, For Our Hero's sound is sure to get anyone up jumping and dancing.

The Audreys are an Australian five-piece blues/roots band who formed in Adelaide, South Australia in 2004. Their debut album, Between Last Night and Us saw them collect the 2006 ARIA Award for Best Blues & Roots Album. Vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Taasha Coates says it took her and fellow songwriter/guitarist Tristan Goodall an age to get back to writing: “We were just a little Adelaide band that made an album, then suddenly we were touring constantly and playing on bigger and bigger stages.

teenagersintokyo hail from Sydney, Australia, but are now based in London, UK. Their mix of dark pop has earned them a fearsome reputation, playing sell out shows with !!!, CSS, The Slits, Midnight Juggernauts and the Gossip amongst others. Last year they released their self-titled EP on Back Yard Recordings, the label responsible for finding internationally acclaimed bands Chromeo and Gossip. It was championed by Zane Lowe and the NME (who called it "peculiar and lovely") and sold out in both Australia and the UK.

From the beginning, Signet Mae wanted to write great songs with a soulful honesty that also reflected a genuine artistic passion. A passion to explore songs rich in atmospheric sound scapes that combine beautiful melodies with lyrical sincerity. Nathan Russo, Ryan Belfield, Luke Sheldon, Adam Corcoran and Danny Batelic all grew up in different suburbs of Victoria, Australia and each of them point to significant early musical discoveries as life altering moments. This musical connection provided an outlet for creativity and an escape route from the mundane reality of suburban existence.
