Originally from Johannesberg, St. Lucia grew up performing with the Drakensberg Boys Choir School. When the choir wasn't traveling - they toured Japan, Australia, Europe and more - they stayed in an enclave tucked in the South African mountains, learning everything from Bach to minimalist opera.
Jebediah are a pop-rock band from Perth, Australia. Forming in 1994, the band consists of Kevin Mitchell (vocals, rhythm guitar) Vanessa Thornton (bass guitar), Chris Daymond (lead guitar) and Brett Mitchell (drums). The band signed with Murmur, a label of Sony Music, in 1996 and released their first album Slightly Odway in 1997. They released three more albums before splitting with Sony: Of Someday Shambles, Jebediah and Glee Sides and Sparities.

Blonde Redhead is an alternative rock band originating from New York City in the early 1990s. It was formed by Kazu Makino, Maki Takahashi and Milan-born Italian twin brothers Simone Pace and Amedeo Pace. They take their name from a song by DNA, a 70s and 80s no-wave band from New York. Blonde Redhead caught the attention of Sonic Youth's drummer, Steve Shelley, who produced their first self titled album in 1993.

Manchester Orchestra is an indie rock band which formed in Atlanta, Georgia, United States in 2005. The group is currently composed of rhythm guitarist-singer-songwriter Andy Hull, lead guitarist Robert McDowell, keyboardist and percussionist Chris Freeman, bassist Jonathan Corley and drummer Tim Very. tUnE-yArDs is the moniker of Oakland-based musician Merrill Garbus. To date, she has two full-length studio albums and is currently signed to the British independent record label 4AD. She was formerly a member of Sister Suvi. Her debut album Bird-Brains was first released on limited edition vinyl and cassette in June 2009, via the Portland-based imprint Marriage Records. In July 2009, it was announced that tUnE-yArDs had signed to 4AD, and a limited edition pressing of BiRd-BrAiNs was released on August 17, 2009.
The Blackeyed Susans are an Australian band, formed in Perth in 1989, based in Melbourne since 1992. They were initially a "holiday band" put together by David McComb in 1989 while The Triffids were in hiatus.
