The band came together as five musicians who have completely different musical influences wanted to create something that is heavy and emotional, yet melodic and memorable. Lo-Fi solo project of ex Meet Me in St Louis front-man and former bassist from Shield Your Eyes Toby Hayes. Toby recorded his debut acoustic album 'From the Muddy Banks of the Melitzer' on September 24th 2008, which has been released on Big Scary Monsters Records. Acting as a two-part release, 'From The Muddy Banks...' has been followed up with a second album, 'Hand-reared Suburban Piglet'. This second record features the same ten songs, but re-recorded with full orchestration.

Juliana Hatfield (born July 27, 1967 in Wiscasset, Maine, United States), is an American guitarist/singer-songwriter from the Boston area, formerly of the indie rock band Blake Babies. The daughter of Philip M. Hatfield (a radiologist) and The Boston Globe fashion critic Julie Hatfield, Juliana was born in Maine and grew up in the Boston suburb of Duxbury. She acquired a love of rock music during the 1970s, having been introduced by a babysitter to the music of the seminal Los Angeles punk rock band <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/X" class="bbcode_artist">X</a>, which proved a life-changing experience.

The Morning Benders is a band from Berkeley, California, formed in 2005, consisting of Julian Harmon, Tim Or, Jonathan Chu, and Christopher Chu. In 2008, they released their debut album Talking Through Tin Cans on +1 Records. The band has toured in support of Broken Bells (Spring/Summer 2010), Grizzly Bear (Fall 2009), The Kooks and Death Cab for Cutie (Summer 2008), Ra Ra Riot (Fall 2008), The Black Keys (Summer 2010), and has also played with Yo La Tengo, MGMT, Grand Archives, Yeasayer, Two Gallants, The Rosebuds, Au Revoir Simone, We Are Scientists, and White Rabbits.
