Shihad

Shihad are a four-piece band from New Zealand, comprising Jon Toogood (guitar/vocals), Tom Larkin (drums), Karl Kippenberger (bass) and Phil Knight (guitar). Their style is best described as "hard rock", although they were described as "metal" in their formative years. Shihad were formed in 1988 in Wellington, New Zealand. They were briefly known between 2002-2004 as "Pacifier". During this time the band was attempting to break into the US market and it was decided that Shihad sounded too much like the arabic word 'jihad', thus the name change. The Thomas Oliver Band

Wellington 5-piece The Thomas Oliver Band have spent the past few years touring and playing live throughout New Zealand with the likes of Fat Freddy’s Drop, Gin Wigmore and Britain’s Oli Brown. Within this time the band have also written and recorded their debut full-length album ‘Baby, I’ll Play’ to be released in early 2011.

Alex The Kid

Alex date: 2077 A futuristic world; where humans colinise the moon and spend their summer vacations future boarding on near by ice planets. Their children’s best friend is an artificial robot named Omnibot 2000, while daily meals come from a thin toothpaste like tube.
Humankind is destined to fall into the same darkness that has befallen their ancestors before them. Having dealt with all human bigotry and discrimination (even after the first wave of phy-borns), humanity is now stricken with a new challenge.

Salmonella Dub

Salmonella Dub began in New Zealand in the summer ending 1992 when Andrew, Dave and Mark applied reggae rhythms and bowel stirring basstones to a handful of bad taste covers. Salmonella Dub's first show was a mixture of covers from Fred Dagg to Nancy and Lee plus some original material in the Westport Racetrack tearooms with EST on January 13th 1993. Over the course of 1993 the band with the aid of Ice Mac and his soundsystem worked the Dux de Lux and Steel Magnolia bars with percussionists Marcus Puentener and Craig Allen.

Neil Finn

Neil Finn is a singer and songwriter and one of New Zealand's foremost musicians. In 1977 Neil was invited to London to join Split Enz, the band formed by his elder brother, Tim Finn. Split Enz broke up in 1984 and Neil formed a new band, Crowded House, with several other Australian and New Zealand musicians. Crowded House had a string of hits over the next 10 years, releasing 4 albums and culminating in a concert in the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House. Finn went solo after this, releasing several albums as well as two albums with his brother Tim (Finn Brothers).

Zowie

Auckland, New Zealand native Zoe Fleury (aka since 2010 Zowie’s) tender years belie a formidable fascination for pop in all its varying forms. Born into a musical family, she specialized in drums from age eleven, then studying a Diploma in Contemporary Music majoring in Drums in her hometown. Her passion for beats, along with her encyclopedic enthusiasm for all things pop has witnessed Zoe master vocals, guitar and programming along with her drumming skills.

Rapture Ruckus

Rapture Ruckus is a Christian hip hop group from Wellington, New Zealand, currently signed to Tooth & Nail and Parachute Records. Formed in 2001, the group currently consists of rapper Brad Dring, DJ Soane Tonga, guitarist Geoff Duncan and drummer Gio Lesa. Their first album, the self titled Rapture Ruckus, was released in 2002 and gained a large underground following. Then followed the Limited Edition EP in 2005, and their second studio album I Believe in 2006, which won the 2006 Gospel Album of the Year at the New Zealand Music Awards.

Concord Dawn

Concord Dawn, Matt Harvey & Evan Short, are a popular drum and bass duo originally from wellington, New Zealand. They own and run Uprising Records with such popular drum and bass songs as "Don't Tell Me" in collaboration with Tiki Taane and "Get Ready" featuring rapper Scribe. They have gained popularity in their home country being the second highest selling electronic artist ever and have been popular with australia's Drum and Bass followers. Concord Dawn are with the Kog label.
