Norah Jones

Norah Jones, born on March 30th 1979 in New York City, is one of the most popular contemporary jazz and jazz-influenced singers of our time. She was a member of Wax Poetic before her debut album Come Away With Me. She can still be heard singing with them on two tracks of their release, Nublu Sessions. Her debut album Come Away With Me was released in 2002 and sold 22 million copies worldwide. It won 5 Grammy Awards in 2003.

The Morning Benders

The Morning Benders is a band from Berkeley, California, formed in 2005, consisting of Julian Harmon, Tim Or, Jonathan Chu, and Christopher Chu. In 2008, they released their debut album Talking Through Tin Cans on +1 Records. The band has toured in support of Broken Bells (Spring/Summer 2010), Grizzly Bear (Fall 2009), The Kooks and Death Cab for Cutie (Summer 2008), Ra Ra Riot (Fall 2008), The Black Keys (Summer 2010), and has also played with Yo La Tengo, MGMT, Grand Archives, Yeasayer, Two Gallants, The Rosebuds, Au Revoir Simone, We Are Scientists, and White Rabbits.

There are multiple artists with this name: 1. Arnold George Dorsey (born 2 May 1936 in Madras, India) is a pop singer of the 1950s-present. Of Anglo Indian ethnicity, he was raised in Leicester, England and adopted the stage name Engelbert Humperdinck, after the German composer best known for his opera, Hänsel und Gretel (1893). The son of a British engineer and the youngest boy in a family of ten children, he moved to England at the age of 10. Growing up, he wanted to be a bandleader. Smokie

Smokie is an English classic rock band from Bradford who found success in Europe in the 1970s. They formed in 1966 in Yorkshire, England and did some early records under the name "Smokey" One of their top hits was "Living Next Door to Alice". While touring in Ireland they discovered the audience would cheer back "Who the Fuck is Alice?". As it turns out , this was a ritual at a Café in Nijmegen (the Netherlands) called "Gompie". The group decided to "cover" this version with comedian Roy Chubby Brown having the honor of yelling "Alice, Who the Fuck is Alice?" during the chorus.

Phebe and Harry met in 2005 on MySpace and five months later Harry had moved from Bundaberg to Adelaide so they could be together. Harry had been in Brisbane hardcore band Slain of Myself and was a keen piano and guitar player. Phebe had no previous musical endevours, other than the few years of recorder she did in primary school. As a joke they wrote and recorded a few songs Little Stevie and Waltz Of The Fuzzy Peach King and put them up on Harry's music page www.myspace.
