Kvelertak (meaning stranglehold or chokehold) is a six-piece black metal hardcore punk band from Stavanger, Norway. All lyrics are written in Norwegian, the band's native language, and concerning Norse mythology/Viking folklore. As of today, the six members are: Erlend Hjelvik (vocals), Vidar Landa (guitar), Bjarte Lund Rolland (guitar), Maciek Ofstad (guitar), Marvin Nygaard (bass), and Kjetil Gjermundrød (drums). Known for their consistent, idiosyncratic sound, the band states that their main influences are rock and roll, black metal and punk.

The Dillinger Escape Plan

The Dillinger Escape Plan is a band from Morris Plains, New Jersey. The band performs a fast-tempo, technically proficient style of heavy music popularly known as mathcore. The band recorded their second EP with Relapse Records in 1998 entitled Under The Running Board. A year later, this was followed with the album Calculating Infinity, which was met with great acclaim from both underground and mainstream press.

1. Denise Katrina Matthews (born January 4, 1959), better known as Vanity but sometimes credited as Denise Matthews-Smith or D.D. Winters, is a Canadian-born singer, songwriter, dancer, actress, model, and full-time preacher. She was the lead singer for the Prince-mentored female trio Vanity 6, which recorded the 1982 R&B hit "Nasty Girl". Matthews formally gave up her stage name "Vanity" and became a born-again Christian in 1994, the year she almost died from the effects of snorting cocaine.

Biohazard was one of the first bands to regularly incorporate elements of both hip-hop and hardcore metal into their sound; since their lyrical fare dealt with the harshness of urban life and the resulting anger and frustration, which both genres of music have been known to address, the connection only made sense, especially in light of Anthrax's highly effective collaboration with Public Enemy on 1991's "Bring the Noise.

DOTD's main purpose is to fight against all the apathy that is poisoning today's punk/hardcore scene. Escape the Fate

Escape the Fate is an American post-hardcore band from Las Vegas, Nevada formed in Pahrump, Nevada in 2004. Their debut full-length album, Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, was released on September 26, 2006. Their second full-length album, This War Is Ours was released on October 21, 2008. To date the band has released two full-length studio albums, three EPs, and six music videos and consists of , Craig Mabbitt (vocals), Max Green (bass), Bryan Money (guitars) and Robert Ortiz (drums).

Suicide Silence

Since their inception in 2004, the Riverside, CA quintet SUICIDE SILENCE have worked feverishly to carve out their own unique niche within the metal scene and in doing so they developed an undeniable buzz with legions of diehard supporters. Their latest album No Time To Bleed, was recorded with acclaimed producer Machine (Lamb Of God). Suicide Silence started in late 2002 as a side project for its members who were all involved in other local bands at the time. Things didn’t get serious, however, until 2004, when the current lineup was solidified.
