Forming in Brisbane in 2003, The Gin Club casually coagulated around a regular open mic night held in a Brisbane pub. Originally based on a fairly elastic lineup, the band has stabilized but it is still a large ensemble with seven songwriters. Winning one day of recording time through a cancer fundraiser at Brisbane club The Troubadour enabled The Gin Club to record their first album. Gold Coast, Australia: 2000-present Gold Coast rockers Mourning Tide began in 2000, as four friends with the same vision: to be the most entertaining and unique band in the emerging hardcore/metal scene. Touring hard and partying harder has earned them a strong local following on the East Coast. In 2003, Mourning Tide released their successful self-titled debut EP, through Modern Music/Sony/BMG.

Tim Shiel, also known as Faux Pas, is a producer based in Melbourne. Working primarily with virtual instruments, he builds intricate sonic worlds that combine synthetic and organic elements. He is consistently inspired by the "possibilities" of "sound" and the challenge of musically articulating his own "intense emotional trajectories." Faux Pas was also a hardcore/metal band from a Mugla, Turkey. The band performed numerous shows and recorded two demos before splitting in 2002. Two of the band's former members accordingly transferred to The Sky We Scrape, a post-rock band in istanbul.
