Since their inception, The Matador have continued to cast themselves apart from the Australian mainstream of heavy music by pushing the boundaries of sound experimentation. Their progressive and dark undertoned layers of music range from down tempo, complex soundscape arrangements to epic, driving walls of earth crushingly heavy guitars, drums and vocals. With an imminent EP release on the way, expect to see The Matador continue to push these boundaries.
Oddly enough, failure is the binding fabric that held the members of recently formed Oh Sleeper together and kept them from slowly embedding themselves further in defeat. "Everyone in this project refused to continue on with our lives until weve made the difference that we are supposed to make in music." says drummer Ryan Conley. Scattered in different corners of the country, something bigger brought these guys together in April of 2006.

Embodiment 12:14 were an Australian metalcore band that were formed in the early '90s. Their CD, Inroads Out, is on rotation on Triple J after being voted 4th Best Australian Heavy Release of 2003.
Day of Contempt were a metalcore band from Adelaide, South Australia. Formed in 1997, they became an integral part of the burgeoning Adelaide underground hardcore scene before gaining widespread recognition and respect on a national scale. After releasing two cassette demos and a pair of EPs (Where Shadows Lie and See Through the Lies), as well as undertaking countless tours across Australia, USA, Europe and Japan, Day of Contempt relocated in mid-2004 to the Los Angeles/Orange County area. Signing with Epitaph, the band released one further EP, 2005's The Will to Live.
Asking Alexandria is an English post-hardcore/metalcore band from York, North Yorkshire, formed in 2007. Founded when rhythm guitarist Ben Bruce contacted old friends after moving back to England from Dubai, the current line-up consists of Bruce, vocalist Danny Worsnop, lead guitarist Cameron Liddell, bass guitarist Sam Bettley and drummer James Cassells. In mid 1998 the live music scene in Sydney, Australia sucked!! Rock bands were replaced by indie noodling and angst ridden grunge burnouts who would never admit to loving rock moves or monster lickage. The fools. It was around this time Troy Scerri, Charlie O'Neill and Dave Tomley began to assemble a band with a desire to play the kind of music they listened to at home, but found it impossible to find on the live circuit. They recruited the brutal Mark Mills and doom lord Jason Breitfuss and =DAREDEVIL= evolved.
