America

America is a light rock band, most popular in the early and mid 1970s and now best known for their #1 hits "A Horse With No Name" and "Sister Golden Hair." Comprised of Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell, and Dan Peek, they were seldom a favorite with critics, but were exceptionally successful commercially selling both singles and albums. Despite the presence of other heavyweight acts like James Taylor and Rod Stewart on their roster, America was Warner Brothers Records' biggest selling act of the 1970s.

It kind of made a lot of sense”. In terms of composing the material, they write on their own, then work together on structure and harmonies.

Kurt Wagner & Cortney Tidwell present KORT

While Kurt Wagner’s role as bandleader in seminal soul/country/folk collective Lambchop sees him deal in multiple shades of deep-orange warmth, Cortney Tidwell’s solo career is often shaded by a kind of icy detachment; an engaging, beautiful coldness. At first glance they might not seem the most natural fit for an album of country takes from the 60s and 70s, but look a little deeper and Invariable Heartache makes perfect sense.

Georgia Potter

Georgia is an advocate for music with a social conscience. An alert listener of music, politics and people, Georgia has developed a calling to use music for social awareness: as a public voice with a positive social conscience, as a politician without the tie or the hidden agenda, as a woman with a whole lot of love, and as a human being with a few stories to tell. Aided by her piano which doubles as a family heirloom, the bashed up Suzuki guitar she learnt on, and her glistening new classical semi-acoustic, Georgia writes most solo, however is currently working on some new projects.

Smoke Fairies

At school in rural England during the mid-late‘90s, best mates Katherine Blamire and Jessica Davies hoped they’d one day escape their home town and dive headlong into the landscape and myth of America, the promised land of their dreams. Little did they know that by 2010, they’d have lived in New Orleans and Vancouver, recorded with 21st century icon Jack White and toured across continents. And now they’re releasing a debut album that fulfils the promise of their earlier singles. “Through Low Light And Trees” is an exquisitely shivery blend of alternative
