Cut Off Your Hands

Cut Off Your Hands is: Nick Johnston (vocals), Jonathan Lee (guitar), Philip Hadfield (bass), and Elroy Finn (drums). The Auckland based band include Gang of Four, The Cure, Death From Above 1979, Whirlwind Heat, Joy Division, Split Enz, and James Chance and the Contortions among the chief influences on their skittering brand of proto-punk styled indie rock. Their self produced debut EP "Shaky Hands" was released in August 2006 on Speak N Spell, and includes the singles "You and I" and "Expectations".

Stan Walker

Stan Roto Walker (born 23 October 1990), is an Australian born New Zealand R&B/soul recording artist who rose to fame in 2009 as a contestant on Australian Idol, becoming the winner of that season.
Walker's debut single, "Black Box" was available for digital download immediately following his win on Idol, on 22 November 2009. The single peaked at number 2 on the ARIA Charts, and on 5 December 2009 debuted at number 5 on the RIANZ Charts in New Zealand, climbing to number 1 the next week. His debut album Introducing.

The Thomas Oliver Band

Wellington 5-piece The Thomas Oliver Band have spent the past few years touring and playing live throughout New Zealand with the likes of Fat Freddy’s Drop, Gin Wigmore and Britain’s Oli Brown. Within this time the band have also written and recorded their debut full-length album ‘Baby, I’ll Play’ to be released in early 2011.

Shihad

Shihad are a four-piece band from New Zealand, comprising Jon Toogood (guitar/vocals), Tom Larkin (drums), Karl Kippenberger (bass) and Phil Knight (guitar). Their style is best described as "hard rock", although they were described as "metal" in their formative years. Shihad were formed in 1988 in Wellington, New Zealand. They were briefly known between 2002-2004 as "Pacifier". During this time the band was attempting to break into the US market and it was decided that Shihad sounded too much like the arabic word 'jihad', thus the name change. Jakob

Jakob is a New Zealand post-rock band, based in Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. The band consists of guitarist Jeff Boyle; bassist Maurice Beckett; and drummer Jason Johnston. They have been compared to such bands as Mogwai, Sonic Youth, and HDU, though they largely eschew any vocals or samples in their songs. The band formed in July 1998, and began by opening for New Zealand bands Salmonella Dub and Pitch Black at the local pub O'Flaherty's. They toured extensively throughout 1999, releasing that same year a self-titled EP recorded with David Holmes at Napier's Venn Production Studios.

Antagonist A.D.

Antagonist is back with a new album and new name: Antagonist A.D. ElevenfiftySeven is proud to be releasing the new full length album We Are The Dead on the 6th of October in both New Zealand and Australia via Melbourne label Trial & Error. Antagonist A.D formed in late 2004 but after trading members & gaining direction a new redux saw the light in 2005. 2005 was a dark year for New Zealand hardcore with prominent bands breaking up, crucial venues being lost & key promoters bowing out. King Cannons

Originally a 4-piece, King Cannons formed at the end of 2007 in Auckland City, New Zealand. Sola Rosa

Since 1999 Sola Rosa’s Andrew Spraggon has been tantalising listeners with otherworldly aural experiences, honing his craft and taking Sola Rosa from a self-released one man project to fully-fledged live powerhouse along the way. A number of highly-regarded albums have been released under the Sola Rosa moniker - 2001’s Solarized, 2003’s Haunted Out-takes, and Moves On in 2005 – each one picking up numerous nominations and getting Spraggon onstage for award acceptance speeches at both the NZ Music Awards and b-net Music Awards.
