Bear in Heaven

Bear in Heaven is a Brooklyn-based rock band formed by Jon Philpot. The sound of the band incorporates influences from psychedelic music, electronic music and krautrock Jon Philpot has previously released music as part of the duo Presocratics, in collaboration with guitarist and composer Need Thomas Windham. Presocratics released two albums on the record label Table of the Elements in 2001; both were produced by Philpot.

Matthew Dear

Depending on whom you ask, Matthew Dear is a DJ, a dance-music producer, an experimental pop artist, a bandleader. He co-founded both Ghostly International and its dancefloor offshoot, Spectral Sound. He’s had remixes commissioned by The xx, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Spoon, Hot Chip, The Postal Service and The Chemical Brothers; he’s made mixes for the Fabric mix series and Get Physical’s Body Language.

Owl City

Owl City is an American electropop musical project by Adam Young. Young started out making music in 2007 in his basement in his hometown of Owatonna, Minnesota, United States, later developing a following through his MySpace profile before being signed to Universal Republic. Owl City released Ocean Eyes on iTunes July 14, 2009, with the physical release following on July 28, 2009. His best known track is 2009's "Fireflies", which in October 2009 hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 in the UK Top 40 on January 24th 2010.

Album 2009 : AWAY FROM THE SEA Two or three times a week, on his Myspace page, Yuksek gets an e-mail from Turkey saying “Hey, know what? Yuksek means “high” in Turkish!” The answer to which is no! Pierre-Alexandre Busson wasn’t aware of this when he chose the name by instinct four years ago, partly for its sound and partly to buck the trend of English-sounding names that are ubiquitous in electronic music. In recent months, the pseudonym has been collecting an ever-growing halo of buzz.

Freestylers

The Freestylers formed in 1996 when DJs and dance music producers Matt Cantor, Aston Harvey and (initially) Andrew Galea joined forces. All three of them had been involved in the British dance music scene since the 1980s. Cantor had recorded as Cut n' Paste and Strike with Andy Gardner (Plump DJs). Aston Harvey recorded as Blapps! Posse best known for the 1990 breakbeat dance hit "Don't Hold Back" before working with Definition of Sound, Rebel MC and DJ Rap (as DJ Rap and Aston). Harvey joined with Galea under the name Sol Brothers before Cantor was recruited to form the Freestylers.

Soulwax, headed by David and Stephen Dewaele, is an alternative rock band hailing from Ghent, Belgium. Even though the Dewaele Brothers have released several major albums under this moniker, including Leave the Story Untold (1996), Much Against Everyone's Advice (1999) and Any Minute Now (2004), the two are perhaps best known for their influential contributions to the bastard pop genre under the names Flying Dewaele Brothers and 2 Many DJ's and the landmark record As Heard on Radio Soulwax, Pt. 2.

Ratatat

Ratatat, from Brooklyn, New York, United States is an electronic music duo with post rock influences: guitarist Mike Stroud and synthesizer driver and producer Evan Mast (E*vax). Stroud and Mast originally met as students at Skidmore College, but did not work together musically until 2001, when their project was named Cherry (later the name of the final song in their debut album). Written and recorded in the bedroom of Mast's Crown Heights, Brooklyn apartment, the band's debut album Ratatat for XL Recordings was released in 2004.
